Fast ball!

Playing Fast ball

On the 7th of september room 17/18 played fast ball.  Not everyone played it though, it was only for people who had finished their must do's. Fast ball is a game that is played with a rugby ball, inside, and is very, very fast! Once we were inside the hall miss Jackson split us into two groups. If you were orange, you were defending the blue and trying to score on the orange mat. If you were blue, it was the other way round. Unfortunately, there were no bibs, so it caused a lot of confusion. The challange of playing fast ball was the scoring- you had to land with your whole body on the mat and the ball in your hand. I was proud when I passed the ball to someone in my group who was so close the goal they jumped on easily. Next time I need to remember to take my socks off first- before I look like I am trying to ski on the carpet! Overall, I had a really good time and I hope more people are able to play it next time.

Marketing Day!!!

Marketing Day!

(Also known as Taste Of Oratia)
  Our final product was:
Soup and sourdough bread. My group made this choice because when our class had soup day everyone went for the creamy vegetable soup. This inspiried ideas for doing creamy vegetable soup since we knew so many people already loved it. It also made sense that we do veggie soup because one of our essential attributes were hidden vegetables! The challenging things about being a marketing director were having the BIGGEST job and on top of that being away for two days. Our successes were that we achived a nice stall sign, made successful bunting, and that I remembered to bring my garlic, tablecloth, and voting box. Some of our essential attributes were- apart from hidden veggies- Filling, not too much sugar, includes fruit, gluten free and dairy free options, and includes protein. You can guess that we took a while deciding what to do!

Winter sports

My non-winter sports day

On monday the 27th of August most people in tuakana went to winter sports. The reason I didn't go was because I did out of school netball and I didn't see the point in going. So when it was zonals day me and a few other people went to room 1 and 2. It was quite fun being the only seiniors in rm 1/2 because we were the helpers and role models. This was because in rm 17/18 everyone is a similar age. It was a fun day overall even though I didn't choose to go to zonals with a lot of my friends. But of corse, our class room was locked! So it was a HUGE pain whenever we needed to get somthing out of our class. Also, I always forget which way to turn the key so we ended up coming back ten minutes late because of it. (The whole class was packing up) at lunch, you could say playing with juinors is a, well experince if you'd call it that. It was definately different from being with people your own age. The highlight of the day was in between morning tea and lunch when it was gymnastics time! I was a helper on the beam, and miss Lewis was right, I definately got board of walking down from the top of the beam to the bottom every person in case they fell off. It was a big relief when Ella came along and helped me with it. In the last session of gym, when Ella came to help, and she instructed them on how to land without injury- because people in the last class kept saying OWWW!, when they landed, so Ella helped by showing them how to land safely.
