My Bunnies Journey
Normally, people get their bunnies/Rabbits from pet shops, or sometimes private breeders. But We got my bunny a whole different way. It started off when I looked out of my window, and looked down at my two does. Flash! It was too quick for me to see properly, and I wasn't really unnerved by it. But even though I needed to check if my bunnies were safe, so I went down to check on them. Everything seemed normal, Apart from the fact that Patch, my white dominant bunny, was moving so fast I could barely see. She was after something, but I couldn't tell what.
It looked brown at first, but then it seemed more ginger. But whatever Patch was after, It was unsettling her so I needed to get It out. I opened the hutch that she shared with her sister, Pepper, to see if it had taken any food or water. I looked down. Flash! The ball of ginger darted through my legs. I just closed my legs in time for Patch to nearly run full speed into them! Graceful, I thought.
I still didn't quite know what Patch was chasing, but it was the same size as her, and as fast, too. I opened the top of the hutch. Nothing. Then, Huddled in the back of their bed, was a skinny, terrified lop. I immediately felt pity for the poor rabbit, and took it back up to our house. I considered letting it go wild, but if it had escaped from someone's backyard, then I wasn't going to leave it for the dogs.
You should have seen the look on my mums face when I brought the terrified bunny up! It was a mixture of "Where did you get THAT?", and "Im practicing my double chin"! We started putting posters up, and asking everyone we knew if they had lost a brown nosed ginger lop. Nobody. We eventually bought a hutch for him (Yes, I checked), and when we got up back to the house, we had a message left on the phone.
"Hello, Yes, Is this the right number? I do believe you have my neighbours sons rabbit. Rockstar, I believe. He often escapes onto my lawn to eat the only grass, and has no running room or company. If it was me who came to you before them, then you might be able to keep him, as I don't know if I approve of their caring methods for him. You can meet them at house _ _ on ____ _____ Rd the left driveway with the red letterbox.
The message ended.
In the morning, we drove down the road to the red-letterbox-house. I stayed in the car, but my mum went out. They weren't home, luckily. There were cans of coca cola and sprite everywhere. It looked like they have had a party. She also saw his hutch, which was broken down and abandoned. So that was it, he was staying with us.
