Journal writing 😎

😎Journal writing😎

On monday, my class, room 17&18 started writing in our journals. Our spare book was used as a journal, but before we could start writing Mrs Maguire and Miss Jackson talked to us about how they are not diarys, and both boys and girls write in them. We also talked about the diffrent types of Journals, such as the secretive diarys, and the Journals that people simply use to write their thoughts and feelings about the recent happenings. After everyone understood the full definition of a Journal, we finally got to write! We had learnt that we were only writing for ourselves, and no one else had permission to read your Journal unless you said so. And only then you could read it out to them, not them reading in their heads. It is a must do, and you need to do it at least once a day. But when we got our new books, hang on, let me repeat that- NEW BOOKS!

Rules for new books:

1. Only neat writing
2. NO FOLDING PAGES
3. Only small drawings
4. No bending book cover

I think you get the message. I hope. Because every book I have had before somehow breaks one or two of those rules. I hope my Journal does not lose its new look soon. I write in my Journal things that happened in the day, and what my thoughts and feelings about them were.

Novel studies

Novel studies

novel studies is where the reading groups Bethells, Raglan and Kerekere pick a novel to read over the next few weeks. Once we have finished our novels, we will do some activities that will be explained by our teacher/s (Mrs Maguire/Miss Jackson) Along with novel studies, we also have writing tasks, where this week we pick a picture to write about. I chose the one about toilet paper (not as weird as it sounds) But it was a draw between the toilet paper one and the baby that poured pasta on him/her self. Next I would have done the banana factory with the banana obsessed worker/minion/banana lover. These two tasks were my favourite tasks of the week. The two other reading groups don't get novels till later. (I don't know why)

Going to Tiarua

Going to Tiarua

The beach
The beaches at Tiarua are like at piha. They usually have violent dumper waves, and most people are unluckly at least once and get dumped. The sand also has many pippi shells. If you are lucky, you will find a scollop shell that is still together that opens and closes. Me and my family went on a hunt and found around forty all together! The waves and currents aren't always bad though. Once I was lucky enough to be there when the oceans were so calm that dolphins were swimming 15 meteres of shore! But to go from violent dumping waves to the calm waters of a lake, It was pretty crazy!

Paku Hill
Paku hill Is the hill our beach house/batch is built on. Out from the deck their is a really good view of the lagoon. It looks so close like you can just jump and you will land on the beach, but we all know that It is way further than it looks. But on the good side, you can walk just about anywhere from paku. The exersise park is one of the places. It is a mixture of getting exersise and doing REALLY fun things. I think that the walk to the exersise park is around three to four kilometeres? That might not be right though. You can also walk to the beach, the lagoon, the tiny village or the dairy.

My overall holiday
My overall holiday was good, but I didn't get to do all the things I was looking foward to. Like the spa, normally after the freezing beach we will jump in and warm up, but it was broken!!!😨 That mean't showers as soon as we got home and that wasn't nearly as fun. Lucky we didn't go tho the beach to much so I didn't get dumped!!! also, It was way too cold to so much as dip you toes in the water!
