Week 2 Of... MY HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Our Cycling Adventure

Technically, there were two parts to our holiday. The first part was super fun, while the second was HARD WORK! You may be asking, why would a holiday be hard? Keep reading to find out.

Our Cycling Trip was AWESOME, even though it was hard, and at the end of the day most of us were too tired to spoon dinner into our mouths. We got to see amazing landmarks, and on our 4th day of non-stop biking, we stopped for the night in Uffington. For anyone who doesn't know, Uffington is where my um... Great great great something uncle wrote his "Tom Brown's School Days" novel, which became a classic. A MUSEUM was based on it! It even had a family tree of the Hughes family, but sadly, no people I recognised were on there. Only names like Thomas Hughes (My something Uncle) Jane Hughes and Mary Hughes "Sister of Thomas", who were all born in the 17'00 or something. It would have been cool if I was on that family tree. MY NAME COULD HAVE BEEN IN A MUSEUM?!

We went in there! Literally the museum was tiny but, uh, very "Fascinating"?
JK. It was really boring.

Uffington is also the location of the White Horse. We only saw pictures and didn't get to actually see the actual thing, but basically it is this picture of a horse drawn into the chalk mountain by people really, really long ago.  Here is a picture:

Thanks for reading! I hope you learnt a little more about England!

PS: Each day I rode this far:
1st day: 26ks
2nd day: 45ks
3rd day: 55ks
4th day: 47ks
5th day: 53ks
I am not absolutely certain this is totally correct, but I know it was roughly around that distance.

Swimming! In The Morning?!

Swimming.... In the morning? Yay.

LI: To recraft
Normally, when you have swimming at school, it's a fun time to swim and enjoy summer. Not for us. We have a full on swimming coach, and to make things worse our session is in the morning! Even in summer (Or spring, as it is now), the mornings are still COLD, especially if you have to get into your togs and in a very VeRy VERY cold pool. Swimming is fun, but in the mornings, it feels like a workout - Something you know you have to do, but you really don't want to do it. Yes. It's EXACTLY like that.

Anyway, we do swimming three times a week. In the pool we do things like whirlpools and underwater-handstand-competitions. Here is a photo of us in term 1 for swimming:

Week one of ...MY HOLIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 Going to England!

We spent the whole 2 weeks of the holidays in England. I might add, I went WITHOUT my parents, just with my grandparents I don't see very often and my cousins. Weirdly, I didn't get homesick. I suppose I was just too busy.

On the way there, we caught a 12 hr flight to Korea, spent the night (And half the day) sleeping, then in the afternoon we caught a 10 1/2 hr flight to London.

On tubes, (Underground Trains) it was so packed with people you had to fight to be able to breathe. You also had to be watching your pockets and bags all the time, because it was so packed you would never know you had been pickpocketed.

On the first day, we went to Kensington Gardens. There were SQUIRRELS!!! They were so, So SO cute! They came really close, too. We went on the London Eye that day. We were acting like the classic tourists; Taking pictures of everything, from the Thames River to Lamp posts. I might add though, the Lamp posts Were really decorative.

The Thames River, (Pronounced "Tems") Is very famous, but it is not as impressive as people make out it is.
