Succulent pot plants

Succulent Pot plants

Note: This does not have much to do with my learning as I posted this in the holidays!

In the easter holidays, I decided that as we were not going anywhere I should set myself up with a project. Besides, I had heaps of spare time on my hands. Here is a step by step process on how to make DIY pots, and getting succulents without affecting them.

You will need:
* A plastic pot (Just black and basic is fine)
* Duct tape
* Paint of your choosing
* 1 - 3 succulents (Advisably the type shown in the picture below)
* Paint brushes
* Soil

Method:
Get your pot and the duct tape, and basically just stick it on in circles, stripes, in any pattern you want. Don't worry, You peel it off in the end. Make sure you don't cover too much of the rest of the pot. After you have finished duct-taping, then you start to paint. Cover the whole thing, including the duct tape. Make sure its nice and dry before you peel the tape off. BAM! you have a much better looking pot (Well, Probably). All thats left to do is plant your succulent! To do this you may need to seperate one from a bunch that might look a bit like this:

You don't affect the rest if you remove it properly. All you have to do is decide which one you want, and feel where the root connects to the other plants. Tug gently, and ease it out. There should be a long-ish root sticking out. Then, well, You plant it! Easy! make sure you give it a small amount of water after you transplant it- not much though, as succulents are very adaptive and don't need much water. Here are some pictures of how mine turned out!

 Making them is really fun and they are done with really easy materials!
